Every year, he never fails to text me on Chinese New Year and my birthday. I used to get messages on New Year's Day and Valentine's too. But with New Year so close to CNY these past few years, one text to wish the same usual festive greetings was enough. And Valentine's Day ... well, I guess it wasn't appropriate anymore. Anyway, I uphold the tradition and do the same. In Jan, I wish him many happy returns and on CNY, a Gong Xi Fa Chai.
